This sensational fluorite specimen is small yet mighty, composed as two vivid green fluorite crystals set on a bed of pyrite rich matrix. The larger crystal is the feature of the piece, with a jelly like transparency, intricate stepped faces and mesmerising inclusions within. Both crystals exhibit a modified octahedral habit, with clear termination windows that allow one to peer inside.
In fact, the most interesting features are visible through the terminations. Looking directly into the crystal reveals an internal zone filled with scattered metallic inclusions - a truly mesmerising internal world.
Pyrite and calcite occur throughout the matrix, forming bright metallic aggregates around the base of both crystals. The combined vivid jewel colour, balanced composition and intricate details give this specimen a wonder presence that is greater than the sum of its parts.
